This is not just any old rocket science, this IS UKAYRoC rocket science!
For 2011, UKAYRoC teams have to design, construct and successfully launch a rocket, carrying one raw medium size hen's egg to an altitude of 750 feet with a flight time between 40-45 seconds, then return the egg and altimeter payload section safely and undamaged to earth using a 15inch Parachute only.
Registration for this year's UKAYROC opens on Wednesday 8th September.
The top 20 teams will be invited to compete in our finals which will be held late April/early May 2011.
Horsforth Secondary School Team 2, from Leeds took home the winner's trophy by completing the contest's task most successfully.
The winning team will attend the Farnborough International Air Show on the 23rd July 2010 where they will fly their rocket in the International Fly-off between the winning US and French teams. The team also win an all-expenses paid trip to NASA in Houston, Texas in October.
